Raising a contract

Once your customer accepts the quote, you can raise a contract straight from it. The products, prices and timings are already known, so the document fills itself in — you add your own terms and it lands in the same brochure the customer is already looking at. Contracts are part of Pro at no extra cost.

  1. Accept the quote first

Open the project and find the Project Timeline. When a quote exists, a strip reads “Quote ready” or “Quote sent · awaiting acceptance”. Click “Mark quote as accepted” once the customer confirms. This raises the invoice and unlocks contracts — a contract always follows an accepted quote, never precedes one.

  2. Raise the contract

A second strip appears reading “Ready for a contract”. Click “Create contract →”. The contract takes the accepted option’s products, sizes, finishes and price, plus your company details and the site address, and numbers itself sequentially.

  3. Check the clauses

Unformed picks a clause set from the SITE address, because that is where the work happens and where your customer lives — a UK address gets the UK set, a US address the US one. The clauses cover the parties, the works, price and payment, timing, access, variations, guarantees and insurance. Read them before you send.

  4. Add your own terms

Anything specific to your business — payment schedules, scaffolding arrangements, waste, working hours — goes in Additional terms, which appears as its own clause at the end.

  5. Send it

The contract is already in the brochure your customer has. If you have not shared it yet, create the shareable link; if you have, it is there the next time they open it. “View contract →” opens it directly so you can check what they will see.

Tips

  • The clause sets are a TEMPLATE, not legal advice, and no solicitor has reviewed them. Have yours check the wording before you rely on it — the disclaimer on every contract says the same thing.
  • If the site is in the UK and you signed at the customer’s home, statutory cancellation rights apply. Worth reading up on before you start door-knocking.
  • To hide the contract from the brochure, switch off “Include quote, contract & timeline” in the timeline panel. That one switch covers every commercial page.
